Brisbane’s famed turf football field will be auctioned off for the first time ever.
The Brisbane Football Club announced on Thursday that the field would be sold for a profit of $10.3 million.
The sale is being done through the Brisbane Sports Corporation and is being organised by Brisbane-based property firm The Greenhill Group.
A large amount of the proceeds from the sale will go towards a new stadium for the club.
The club is currently on the lookout for a new home for the Brisbane Broncos and will hold its first home game there in 2018.
The stadium is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2020 and will be built in time for the 2019 NRL premiership season.
A new stadium in Brisbane is set to be announced in 2019, but the team is yet to confirm a date for a second home.
